Rangers (apparently) sign Tanaka...Kensuke Tanaka...

All's quiet on the Free Agent Front.  And the Trade Front.  And not much is happening with the prospects in winter ball.

However...

The Rangers have supposedly, allegedly, signed 32-year-old Kensuke Tanaka (no relation to Masahiro Tanaka, as far as I can tell) to a minor league contract.  Tanaka joined MLB last year with the San Francisco Giants, playing left field despite being a career 2nd baseman with the Nippon Ham Fighters.  Yes, he was a teammate of Yu Darvish.  Tanaka didn't impress in his very short stint by the Bay, but he has speed and patience, and can get on base.  This is likely a depth move and nothing more, but I've also wondered if Jon Daniels is focusing on OBP guys now that the focus has really shifted to slugging.

Former Ranger star and King Douche C.J. Wilson married long-time girlfriend Lisalla Montenegro.  Yep.

Mariners fans are desperately trying to pretend the last few weeks didn't happen.

The Athletics apparently believe they discovered the next obscure market inefficiency:  Fly ball to ground ball ratio.  Unfortunately, Tom Tango presents the argument "There are no intentional ground ball hitters."  However, as David Pinto points out, Ichiro Suzuki can probably disprove that theory.

Some Houston fans seem to think their front office is magic.
