ALDS, one game down...

That the Rangers beat David Price in a post-season game for the fourth time isn't much of a surprise.  Texas, somehow, has a decent record against Price, just as they have the single-best team record against Felix Hernandez.  Less expected was that the offensive damage was done by Robinson Chirinos, who has been on the DL for the past two and half months, Rougned Odor, who slammed a solo home run after being plunked by Price twice (Rougie doesn't get mad, people...well, actually, he does, but he does the revenge thing, too).

Game Two features the Ranger's ace left-hander Cole Hamels, who will likely have to be at his best to handle a Toronto club that's mashed lefties better than righties this year.  Still, Texas is playing with house money in a year that they weren't expected to go this far, so it's all good.

1 But Odor did get revenge... when Donaldson's face ran into Rougned's knee.

As to whether it was intentional, well...

2 Someone in my twitter feed said something like "people tend to get hurt around Odor at second base".  It's a bit of an exaggeration based on a small sample size, but there's no doubt that's how he plays the game.  The Donaldson hit honestly looked like he was trying to break up the double play and Rougie just decided to jump over him and didn't completely clear.  But, Odor usually *doesn't* get out of the way.  If you decide to slide into him, you're gonna deal with the consequences.

3 Heh... I know he wasn't trying to move Donaldson's nose to the inside of his skull with his knee, it was just too easy a joke to make.

Speaking of which:  LEADING THE CHARGE!

4 With Rougie you never know.  Well, that's not true.  It's usually pretty obvious when he's going after someone.  And he does it a lot.

Fielder just isn't graceful, no matter how hard he wants to be.  I sincerely wish he could get his swing back again, but I think he's worn out.  He missed almost an entire year with the neck surgery, and I think it'll take more time before he can hit for an entire year.  If he ever makes it back to that.
